The Art Of Bonsai

Bonsai is the art of aesthetic miniaturization of trees, or of developing woody or semi-woody plants shaped as trees, by growing them in containers. Cultivation includes techniques for shaping, watering, and repotting in various styles of containers.
‘Bonsai’ is a Japanese pronunciation of the earlier Chinese term penzai . A ‘bon’ is a tray-like pot typically used in bonsai culture. The word bonsai is used in the West as an umbrella term for all miniature trees in containers or pots.

Stoned Wallabies

WALLABIES are breaking into Tasmania's poppy fields and getting high.
The strange occurrence, revealed in a State Government Budget Estimates hearing, has also solved what some growers say has spurred a campfire legend about mysterious crop circles that appear in northern Tasmania's poppy paddocks.
In true X-Files-style, Attorney-General Lara Giddings said the drugged out wallabies had been found hopping around in circles squashing the poppies, creating the formations – and hence solving the mystery.

Some old pics..

This is me and Nate in the subway in New York. We had a very long night of drinking and god knows what else. I remember shortly after this was taken, we need to wake Nate up for his train ticket.. After numerous failed attempts, he finally stumbled to his feet and screamed; Here is my fucking train ticket!!!, and tossed a pile of money up in there air, then fell over. The last thing you wanna do in the train station is throw money around...funny shit..

This shot was taken at The Kerr Rd. house. I love the ghostly effect. It definitly captures the mood of that night.

The Bird & The Fox..

A man was running late for work one Monday morning. On the way to work, he spotted an injured bird flapping his wings on the side of the road. He wanted to help it, but he didnt want to be late for work. He noticed a steamin' pile of cow shit on the other side of the road. He picked the bird up and buried him up to his neck in the dung. He said;"Don't worry fella, i'll be back right after work to help you. you'll be safe here till i get back."
The bird was so happy that someone had found him , he started singing. Meanwhile, i hungry fox was stalkin' the area. He heard a bird singing, and followed the sound to a steamin' pile of cow dung. He thought to himself;"Wait a second, cow shit doesn't sing!" So he crept up to the dung, noticed the injured bird, and swallowed him.

The moral of the story is...
The person who puts you in the shit, isn't exactly you're enemy. And The person he gets out of the shit, isn't exactly you're friend.
And for god's sake, when you're in the shit, don't sing about it.

Pondering Peace..

This is the cover of Yoko Ono's Album; "Season Of Glass" I always loved this image. These are the glasses John Lennon was wearing when Mark David Chapman shot him outside the Dakota Hotel on December 8, 1980. You can still see the blood.
The shot was taken by Yoko. She placed the glass on a window sill over-looking Central Park, one of Johns favorite places to be. It really makes you think..
I had the opportunity to see the original photo at the John Lennon Exhibit in New York recently. And ever since then, i cant seem to get this image out of my head..
We'll miss you John..

And You Said You Loved Me..

It's been years since anyone really thought Jack and Meg White were actual siblings. But by all appearances, the two are family.

According to a statement on the White Stripes' websitevia MTV), Meg White married Jackson Smith, the son of Patti Smith and the late MC5 guitarist Fred "Sonic" Smith, on May 22. The two were married in Jack White's Nashville backyard. "A small party of close friends and relatives" attended. In general, ex-husbands don't open up their homes for their ex-wives' weddings, but then again, they don't usually continue playing in a band together after they split up, either.
According to the Stripes' site, the nuptials were a double wedding: "Little" Jackie Lawrence, the bassist for the Raconteurs and the Dead Weather, married his girlfriend Jo McCaughey at the ceremony. According to the Stripes' website, "the wedding was officiated by the most reverend Benjamin Swank." MTV reports that Swank is probably former Soledad Brothers drummer Benjamin "Swank" Smith. More evidence that these two crazy kids still get along: As we reported earlier this month, Jack told Music Radar that another White Stripes album "won't be too far off. Maybe next year." ~Pitchfork Media

Somebody killed Bill?

Actor David Carradine has been found dead, hanging naked by a nylon rope in a hotel room closet in Bangkok, Thailand, according to a Thai police official...

Carradine, who became famous in the 1970s when he starred as traveling Shaolin monk Kwai Chang Caine in the television series "Kung Fu," was 72. Most people know him for his role in the Kill Bill movies.

The rope was believed to be from the hotel room curtains, Bangkok Police Lt. Col. Pirom Chanpirom said Thursday. He said investigators found no sign of forced entry into Carradine's room. An autopsy was being conducted at a Bangkok hospital, but no results will be available for another day, he said.

Return of the champion..

I finally got a new XBox. My dad sent me one with a cool wood-grain faceplate. And that means its time to waste countless hours playing the best game ever...The Elder Scrolls lll: Oblivion.
I must have beaten this game six times already, and i still love it.
Unfortunate, I don't have all the add-ons yet. Hopefully i can figure out how to transfer my save files from Gregs hard-drive. Cuz i need Shivering Isles and the Wizards Tower. Its not the same without it.
And now it begins..i WILL be the champion of Cyrodil once again.

New York Lennon Experience

I figure i'd recap my recent trip to NYC... I went to the john Lennon Exhibit at the Rock N' Roll Annex. I went with Niki, Shannon, Greg and Kayln. It was a good time. The exhibit was interesting. It started of with a wall of name plates of artists that have been inducted over the years. Each name lit up according to what song was playing. Then the doors opened..Theres was a lot to see before we got to the Lennon exhibit. They had Bruce Springsteen's first car, a room full of CBGB's relics (including a urinal) and a lot of other stuff.
Then came the Lennon room..the brainchild of Yoko Ono. They had hand-written lyrics, rare photos, movies and the most interesting display..Lennon's bag of clothes he was wearing when he was shot. Unfortunately, they would allow any photos. If you ask me..everything in that gallery should be public domain. In all, it was a good time.
Afterwards, we went to ground zero. Its still a hole in the ground. It was only a few hours and it was already time to go. I hate leaving new york. And thats that..
Check out some pics.. NYC '09
